Cinderhall MIDI Pack 04 box
Black Tolex cover with a worn steel plate reading Metal and Post-Hardcore Drums, MIDI pack 04, 36 grooves, 24 fills, 60 patterns, 180 MIDI files, MIDI only, no audio.

What is in the pack

180 MIDI files: 60 drum patterns (36 grooves and 24 fills) in General MIDI, plus the same 60 patterns in two alternate note maps (60 + 60 files). These are not extra patterns. MIDI only, no audio. There are no guitar or bass parts.

  1. 60 General MIDI files, one pattern per file
  2. 60 files in a Superior Drummer 3 / EZdrummer default map version
  3. 60 files in a GetGood Drums style map version
  4. Grooves are 2, 4 or 8 bars; fills are 1 or 2 bars

Every file ends on a whole bar. File names show the time signature, BPM and length in bars. See download format and contents.

Tempo and time signatures

76 to 200 BPM, one tempo per file. Six families, each with 6 grooves and 4 fills.

  1. Time signatures: 4/4, 6/8, 12/8, 7/8, 5/4 and 6/4
  2. Tempo is stored in quarter notes per minute, including the 6/8, 12/8 and 7/8 files
  3. Programmed, not performed: every hit was written in code
  4. Timing is on the grid; the dynamics come from written velocities

These are not recordings of a drummer.

Import and channels

Bring the files into your DAW and choose your own drum instrument. MIDI makes no sound by itself.

  1. Drums on channel 10 in every file.
  2. The main version uses General MIDI note numbers. Load it into a GM-mapped drum instrument, or use one of the two alternate maps.
  3. No file sends a program change.
  4. Standard MIDI Files, format 1, 960 PPQ.

Not tested with any specific DAW or plugin.

KNOW THE DRUM MAPS.

General MIDI is the main version, with drums on channel 10.

The Superior Drummer 3 / EZdrummer default map version moves the left kick, MIDI 35 (B1), to MIDI 36 (C2). Nothing else is changed.

The GetGood Drums style version moves the left kick to MIDI 36 (C2) and the crash-ride, MIDI 59 (B3), to the ride, MIDI 51 (D#3). GGD layouts differ between libraries, so check yours.

The two alternate maps have not been tested in those plugins.

Licence: Cinderhall MIDI Pack Licence

Licence summary. When you buy a pack, or download a free one from Cinderhall's official store, you (one person, one band or one studio) get a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use the MIDI files in your own musical works. You may record, release, perform, stream, sync and sell music you make with these files, commercial or not, with no further fees or credit required, and edit, transpose, re-voice, cut and combine the files freely inside your works. You may sell or license beats and instrumentals made with the files as finished, rendered audio, and use them in work for clients; the client gets the finished work, not the MIDI files. People you engage on a specific project may use the files for that project only. You may not resell, share, upload, give away or redistribute the MIDI files themselves, alone or bundled, edited or not, including in sample packs, MIDI packs, templates, presets, libraries or AI/ML training sets, and you may not share a DAW project or template that contains them. You may not grant exclusive rights in the Cinderhall material, or register a work made mainly of unedited Cinderhall files with a content-identification system such as YouTube Content ID. Cinderhall keeps ownership of the files. Files are provided as is. The full licence text applies; it ships as LICENSE.txt (English, the official version) and LICENCE-FR.txt (French) in the ZIP.
